Nobel Laureate Professor Vernon L Smith speaks on ‘Experimental Economics’

In March 2008, Nobel Laureate Professor Vernon L. Smith (Economics, 2002) was in Singapore to introduce his work in pioneering experimental economics as an analytical tool for decision-making to business leaders and media representatives.

As part of a series of lectures that Professor Smith delivered, the foundation underwrote the costs of the Temasek Forum and the cost of 10 seats at the two-day hands-on workshop for senior officials in the region with a grant of S$41,000. Regional officials from Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, China and Cambodia attended the workshop to gain a deeper understanding of the concept of experimental economics and its applications.
