Hainan Nurses Training Project

The foundation is working in partnership with Nanyang Polytechnic International on a two-year capability-building programme for nurse educators in Hainan Province.

The programme which will be implemented by Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Health Sciences (Nursing) is designed to upgrade pedagogy and specific nursing disciplines of nursing instructors, educators and management personnel at nursing schools and hospitals.

Implemented in partnership with the Hainan Public Health Bureau, this training programme will eventually equip as many as 11,000 nurses in Hainan in new nursing management practices and nursing training pedagogy. Some 156 nursing specialists will undergo training at Nanyang Polytechnic in critical care, emergency and perioperative nursing. The programme is supported by the foundation with a S$1.5 million grant.
