Training Philippine Leaders In Education Policy and Governance
July 2011

Philippines

More than 600 leaders and educators from 400 schools in the Philippines have started training in educational policy, governance and school management.

The training will comprise: educational policy and development for superintendents and supervisors; school leadership and management for school principals; and pedagogy and curriculum development for master trainers. The participants will also learn to develop training modules and a longer-term plan for development at the school, district and divisional levels.

Managed by the Ateneo Centre for Educational Development and with expertise provided by professors from the National Institute of Education, Singapore, the programme supports the efforts of the Philippines Department of Education to increase the pool of master trainers needed to reach out to more public schools in the Philippines and to implement educational reforms and innovations.
