Functional screening helps to identify age-related decline in vision, hearing and oral health. Early identification and intervention help seniors to age well in place and enhance their quality of life.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Temasek Foundation and our corporate partners are making available nationwide basic functional screening for hearing, eyesight and oral health at subsidised rates for all citizens above 60 years old. The screening programme is free for Pioneer Generation citizens, S$2 for CHAS card holders, and S$5 for others.

Seniors who require spectacles, hearing aids and dentures will also receive financial assistance to acquire these functional aids so that they can see, hear and eat better. Project Silver Screen vouchers will also be given to reduce the out-of-pocket costs, over and above existing government subsidies, regardless of household income.

Project Silver Screen screening sessions are conducted at convenient and accessible community venues. Depending on the results, seniors may be referred for further tests, such as for cataracts or glaucoma.
