Eco-Business, The SDG Collaborative
Launched in 2018, The Liveability Challenge (TLC) is an annual global call for proposals directed at specific liveability/sustainability themes or problem areas. It seeks to expand the knowledge base of innovative solutions, support innovation and entrepreneurship, encourage partnerships and network building, and reinforce Temasek and Singapore’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Temasek Foundation awards up to S$1 million in project development funding to the team with the best proposal at the TLC.
TLC 2020 sought proposals in urban food production, circular packaging and decarbonisation solutions for sustainable and future-ready cities. More than 400 applications from over 60 countries were received, out of which six were chosen to present at the finale event in July 2020. The winner was TurtleTree Labs’ proposal for fully functional milk using cell-based technology to significantly reduce carbon footprint.
The Liveability Challenge is presented by Temasek Foundation and organised by Eco-Business.
